About Sound Tourist
This series of apps is designed to help you relax and unwind. They are about escapism, dreaming, finding a place of peace and serenity, whenever you feel like it. Each app tries to capture some of life’s blissful moments, allowing you to transport your mind to a beautiful, idyllic place. They have been recorded outdoors on location in Scotland, in places of outstanding beauty and feature original narratives. The combination of the sounds, narrative and your imagination will give you a very real and pleasant experience.
We go through life governed by schedules, deadlines and routines. We find ourselves living life at a pace we’re not naturally comfortable with. We dream of doing things differently, promising ourselves we’ll change and do something about it. Yet we get caught up in life’s treadmill - work, chores, busy evenings. It’s little wonder we look forward to our weekends and holidays - a chance to step off the treadmill and appreciate and enjoy a healthier pace of life.
As someone who enjoys the outdoors, I've always fed off the feeling of wellbeing gained after being out in the fresh air. I've carefully chosen the setting for each app, as they have played a special part in my life and I've created these apps as much for myself as for you. Many of the sounds will be familiar to you and so you'll find these safe and comforting, allowing you to build on your own memories and positive experiences, so you can drift along on your own journey or join mine. These apps also provide a great setting for practising cognitive techniques you may already be familiar with.
